The Health Disparities Conference provides a consistent annual and highly recognized venue to present research and clinical practice related abstracts that are committed to improving health outcomes in underserved minority populations.

Conference participants are encouraged to submit workshop proposals as abstracts for XULA 2020. The workshops will take place in designated periods during the conference; and are intended to showcase innovations, interventions, and transformative research taking place around the broad themes of The Evidence of Personal and Societal Determinants to Achieve Health Equity. There are two types of workshop proposals requested: individual proposals and group proposals of usually 3 speakers.

Workshop Focus Areas

Concurrent Workshop A

Implement Interprofessional education models that train/teach personal and societal determinants to achieve health equity and eliminate health disparities.

Concurrent Workshop B

Highlight programs and projects that include nontraditional partners in the community on factors like socioeconomic status, education, neighborhood and physical environment, and social support networks, as well as access to health care applications such as integrative care management, care coordination, health promotion, comprehensive transitional care, and patient and family support that promote equity.

Concurrent Workshop C

Demonstrate approaches that incorporate health considerations into decision making across sectors and policy areas that focus on housing, employment, and transportation to achieve health equity and eliminate health disparities.

Workshop speakers will present together within a session dedicated to one of the above focus areas.
