Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of the 2016 Public Health Summit, participants should be able to:

  • Identify the major factors contributing to the incidence of interpersonal violence in families, schools, and communities, including contributing factors of domestic and intimate partner violence, youth violence, gang violence, and community policing;
  • Describe promising strategies and successful practices to reduce the incidence and impact of interpersonal violence in communities;
  • Identify community programs and resources to strengthen local community capacity to promote interpersonal violence prevention and support survivors of interpersonal violence; and
  • Disseminate evidence-based strategies and best practices to facilitate community engagement and effective implementation of violence prevention approaches in local communities.
